I was looking at the newly-launched Chase & Galley website this afternoon which was designed by friend and outstanding dude, Tristan Main. As I was browsing though C&G’s Meanjin redesign, my eye was caught by this map by Oslo Davis.
Notes on this map:
- I’ve never considered myself as living in Harlem, because that would be giving Box Hill and Blackburn’s teenage gangstas too much credit.
- Astoria and Thornbury/Coburg/Preston are full of Greeks, yes.
- Coburg is going to be the next Melbourne suburb to rapidly gentrify because Northcote is full and hipsters love baklava, the Sydney Road Savers and the cute stores that are popping up around that end of Sydney Road (opening on Sydney Road because as I said, Northcote is full). I don’t think this shares parallels with Astoria, though I could be wrong.
- The accuracy of this map is astounding.
Pretty great. Maybe Brunswick = Brooklyn though. But pretty great.
I like the fact the south east doesn’t exist

Freakishly accurate.
Amazing! I live in the Melbourne equivalent of Soho / West Village / Greenwich Village. Suits. Me.
shudder to think where...suspect New Jersey would sound about right.
